Pressure, temperature, and level sensors in the distillation column send real-time data to the T8231’s I/O modules.

The T8231’s three processors cross-validate the data. If pressure exceeds the safe limit (e.g., 20 bar), all three units confirm the anomaly.

The controller immediately sends signals to shut off the feed pump, open the pressure relief valve, and trigger an alarm in the control room.

It also sends a status update to the refinery’s PCS, but the safety action is executed independently—even if the PCS is down.
