The ICS TRIPLEX T8451 is a TrustedTM 24 Vdc digital output module featuring triple modular redundant (TMR) design, tailored for safety-critical industrial automation applications. It comes with 40 output channels divided into five independent power groups (8 channels each), delivering 2A per channel while limiting each group to 8A, and supports a system power supply range of 20 – 32 Vdc. Compliant with IEC 61508 SIL 3 standards and TÜV certified, it is equipped with electronic latching short-circuit protection and galvanic isolation to resist electrical noise and surges, ensuring stable operation. With 1ms event resolution for sequence-of-events reporting and hot-swappable capability, it facilitates quick troubleshooting and maintenance without system shutdown. Built to endure harsh conditions (-5°C to 60°C operating temperature, 5–95% non-condensing humidity), it is widely applied in oil & gas, chemical processing, and power generation, reliably controlling field devices like valves and actuators in safety instrumented systems and critical process control.
Installation:
SHRA is installed on a metal plate carrier with plastic insulation, and then on a DIN rail. Alternatively, the SHRA plus insulator can be installed on a metal plate assembly and then directly bolted to the cabinet. There are two types of European style terminal blocks to choose from, as shown below:
1. Analog input, two wire transmitter
2. Analog input, three wire transmitter
3. Analog input, four wire transmitter
4. Analog input, externally powered transmitter
5. Analog input, voltage ± 5 V dc
6. Analog output, 4-20 mA current
Features:
1. The component is installed in a rectangular housing with four inputs or outputs. Two of them are located at the bottom of the device, and two are located at the top of the device.
2. Two female sockets are placed side by side on the top of the device. One of them (P2) is labeled with “transmit output”. Another (P3) says “receive”. The additional female socket (P1) labeled as “full duplex” and the two position terminal board (TB1) labeled as 10 mA Max 24 V DC are located at the bottom of the device. The openings at the top and bottom of the equipment facilitate air circulation and heat dissipation.
3. There are two LED status indicator lights on the front of the module. Receiver active and not bypassed are this label. The rear design of the device allows users to choose the installation method. The side of the device has labels for each module connector (top and bottom) and charts to help solve front panel LED issues.
