3. System Introduction

1. A chlorine concentration sensor and flow sensor in the water line send real-time data to the T8160’s I/O modules.
2. The T8160’s two processors cross-check the data. If chlorine concentration exceeds the safe limit (e.g., 4 ppm), both units confirm the issue.
3. The controller immediately shuts off the chlorine dosing pump, opens a bypass valve to dilute the water, and sends an alarm to the plant’s control room.
4. It shares status with the plant’s PCS, but the safety action runs independently—ensuring safe water supply even if the PCS has a glitch.
